This application is easy to use and suits the needs of any level user who wishes to keep files organized and up to date. We liked that the synchronization process uses minimal system resources and requires little user interaction. The program lacks a scheduler, but with Mirror Image Service, file replication is continuous. We found both methods demonstrated accurate results. On the following screen, make sure your backup drive is selected (or conversely choose the option to back up to DVDs or a network location). There are two simple copy methods: the faster Standard method replicates files from the source folder to the destination folder, while the Merge method bidirectionally copies files from both source and destination folder. Click Create a system image in the upper left. A comprehensive wizard is available to guide setting up images. File synchronization tasks, or "images," are easily made via the Mirror Image Service Manager. Select the disk of your choice (in this example, it is disk 1), and then click Add Mirror.
A dialog box opens in which any disk on your system that is available for mirroring is displayed. Right-click disk 0 (which contains the boot and system files), and then click Add Mirror.
But oddly, it doesn't create any desktop shortcuts, and we had to dig into the Program Files folder to run the program. Disk 1 must be unallocated space before you can proceed with mirroring. Installing and setting up Mirror Image is fairly straightforward. This simple application synchronizes files in your selected folders and devices, but installation isn't novice-friendly.
